(Unila): The University of Lampung (Unila) provides support and appreciation for the hard work and achievements of the students. Students with achievements at national and international levels receive awards in the form of funds as a stimulus so that they always excel.

The award was handed over symbolically by Unila Chancellor, Dr. Mohammad Sofwan Effendi, accompanied by Unila Deputy Chancellor for Student and Alumni Affairs, Prof. Yulianto, at the Award Giving Ceremony to University of Lampung Students with achievements in 2022, at the Unila Multipurpose Building, Tuesday, December 27, 2022.

Prof. Yulianto reported that there were 375 achievements in total the students collected during the period, November 2021 to November 2022. The achievements include 295 national achievements with an award fund of IDR 569 million and 80 international achievements worth IDR 246 million.

Prof. Yulianto also said that the amount of funds for this award in 2022 significantly increased by contrast with that in the previous year.

On the same occasion, Unila Chancellor, Mohammad Sofwan, seemed happy to be present at the event, congratulating the deans and students for such outstanding achievements at the national and international level that Unila is proud of them.

In his remarks he said student achievement was categorized into two, academic or intellectual achievement and non-academic achievement obtained outside the campus. These two sorts of the achievement are required in the world of work as a provision for soft skills.

According to him, the achievements made either at the national or international levels, apart from academic achievements, refer to competencies that students need after graduation.

Sofwan said that students need to be prepared with achievements to encounter challenges after they are graduated. The student with high GPA does not necessarily guarantee his success in life but she or he needs to excel on and off campus, as well as to improve their competences and soft skills because the competencies needed are actually competencies that can be of use after graduation.

It is not such an easy way for students to obtain achievements at either national or international levels that few students can achieve it. He suggested that the students with outstanding achievements be grateful and keep up their good work. [PR Team]
