(Unila): Faculty of Medicine in University of Lampung (Unila) is one of the leading faculties and becomes local pride. This youngest faculty at Unila is trying to develop itself by synergizing related elements at Unila in establishing cooperation with several institutions in Indonesia and abroad. The aim is to strengthen its capacity and be able to compete nationally and globally.
On 28-29 October 2019, a delegation consisting of Dr. Dyah Wulan (Dean), dr. Fitria Saftarina, M.Sc. (Vice Dean for Academic Affairs and Cooperation), and Dr. John Fitriyadi (Vice Dean for General and Finance) accompanied by Prof. Cipta Ginting (Director of Collaboration Development and Interantional Affairs) visited School of Medicine at Gifu University.
The delegation had meeting with Toru Iwama (Dean of Gifu University School of Medicine), Kazuhiro Yoshida (Director of University Hospital), Prof. Fumiaki Suzuki (Director of Medical Education Development Center), Prof. Ngaoka (Molecular Pathobiochemistry), and Prof. Morita (Director of Center for Clinical Training and Career Develompent). During the meeting, they did sharing about medicine education and discussed the future collaboration including staff and student exchange.
Other discussion topic is an explanation of the current state of medical care in Japan, the university’s medical education, and postgraduate’s curriculum which delivered by Prof. Suzuki and Prof. Morita as the Director of the Promotion Center for Medical Doctors. After that, they visited the Doctor Promotion Center, Outpatient General Hospital, Skills Lab and Tutorial Room.
The following day, the team visited the affiliated seismic isolation structure of the hospital. The team also observed the helicopter doctor and other facilities with guidance from medical faculty office staff. This visit is expected to facilitate closer exchanges between the University of Lampung and Gifu University in the future.
FMUL which was established in 2011 currently has three undergraduate programs (basic medicine, clinical medicine and pharmacy) and one master program (public health). FMUL Unila has the vision to be in the 10th best medical school in Indonesia. FMUL has local content in about agromedicine. The visit is expected to give benefits for both parties, especially support FMUL to achieve it vision.
