(Unila): The funding for the construction of the Teaching Hospital (RSP) and the University of Lampung Research Center(Unila) entered the final round.

Rector of Unila, Prof. Hasriadi Mat Akin, met the team from Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education (Kemenristekdikti) on Monday (6/17/2019) at the Grand Mercure Jakarta to present the report on the revised project (Readiness Criteria).

Hasriadi revealed that Unila have long sought the funding support to continue the construction of RSP which had stopped during the prior period of the former rector.

By the collaboration with the Asian Development Bank (ADB), Kemenristekdikti, then, classified Unila from the blue book category to the green book registration.

“We are currently registered in the green book at the moment. The difference is that the blue book was merely approved by Bappenas while the green book was approved by the funder. However, there is a quite long queue in Bappenas, but Unila indicated a quite fast move,” Hasriadi explained.

The change in our status, he continued, began with the issue of approval from three ministers, namely Bappenas, Kemenristekdikti, and Funding Providers (ADB). In addition, the green book category indicated the approval from the Ministry of Finance.

Hasriadi also explained that the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education and ADB agreed at the meeting that in the near future, Unila will obtain funding assistance for infrastructure development of RSP and Research Center about USD $43 million or equivalent to IDR 650 billion.

In that milestone moment, Unila also used that opportunity as to submit the administrative proposal revision based to ADB standards.

In accordance with the mandate of the Minister of Research, Technology, and Higher Education, M. Nasir, infrastructure is one essential component of resources for Higher Education through a strategic investment in supporting the development of science and technology, as well as improving quality.

Hasriadi revealed, top universities are those who have qualified research facilities. Unila devises the research development of our green campus emerges as the largest research center in Sumatra Island.

“This large research center is, then, expected to be able to accommodate colleges and universities in Lampung Province as well as Sumatra Island to support our regional development and further contributes to the regional economic development,” said Hasriadi.[Unila in Media]
