(Unila): Deputy Rector for Student Affairs and Alumni, Unila, Dr. Anna Gustina Zainal, led a delegation to make a courtesy call with the Indonesian Embassy in Paris, on Wednesday, June 5, 2024.
Among those with the delegation were Prof. Ari Darmastuti, a lecturer of Political Science, Dr. Dikpride Despa, head of the research center, Dr. Heri Satria, Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Dr. Arie Fitria, Head of the International Office FISIP, and Dr. Bartoven Vivit Nurdin, Head of the Department of Sociology, and Wulan Suciska, M.Si, a lecturer of Communication Science and they were welcomed by Dr. Luh Anik Mayani, Attaché for Education and Culture.
The courtesy call was made as a form of coordination between Unila and the Indonesian Representative during the working visit in France. Dr. Anna Gustina Zainal on the occasion insisted on Unila’s strong commitment to build institutional inter-university cooperation.
According to her so far Unila has established person-to-person cooperation but this has no impact on the support for key performance indicators (KPI).
The Unila current delegation in France was particularly intended to sign the MoU and IA with l’Ecole Nationale des Travaux Publics de l’Etat (ENTPE) and Université de Technologie de Troyes (UTT).
The delegation’s meeting with Université Paul Valéry Montpellier 3 (UPVM3) was aimed at solidifying preparations for the signing of the MoU and simultaneously discussing opportunities for joint research, student mobility, lecturer exchange, and so on.
Dr. Luh Anik Mayani in her remarks pointed out the importance of establishing cooperation in social sciences as Prof Warsito has made a very wide cooperation faucet for friends from the Faculty Mathemathics and Natural Sciences (MIPA) and the Engineering Faculty as indicated by the signing of the MoU with UTT.
Dr. Luh Anik Mayani also suggests that the Unila may extend cooperation with several partner universities of the Indonesian Embassy in Paris that have Asian studies centers, such as Science-Po Paris and ENS Lyon.
The Education Attaché is pleased to facilitate the Unila delegation to meet with Science-Po Paris in the near future to initiate the cooperation between the two institutions. The cooperation may take the form of joint research between Indonesian and French lecturers and researchers as Unila has done with CNRS.
The Unila delegation has taken advantages of the visit to France to organize international community service (PKM) activities with the French community, the Indonesian Diaspora, and PPI. [PR Team]
