(Unila): Chancellor of the University of Lampung, Prof. Lusmeilia Afriani, accompanied by the Deputy Chancellor of PKTIK Dr. Ayi Ahadiat, the head of UPT PKLI Unila Prof. Irza Sukmana, and LP3M Secretary Dr. Dikpride Despa, visited Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Malaysia to conclude a cooperation agreement between the two universities.
The team was welcomed by UiTM Chancellor, Professor Datuk Ts. Dr Hajah Roziah Mohd Janor, along with his staff, the Director of Al-Sultan Abdullah UiTM Hospital, Prof. Sazzli Shahlan Kasim, the head of International Cooperation, Training and Development (ICTD) Office of International Affairs (OIA), Dr. Idaya Husna Mohd, UiTM Strategic and UiTM Global Engagement team at Hospital University of UiTM Puncak Alam, Selangor Malaysia, Tuesday 8 August 2023.
In this meeting, the two universities discussed several agreements regarding cooperation which had been ratified through the signing of the MoU last July at Unila. The agreements resulted in UiTM’s support for a teaching hospital for the development of the Unila educational university.
Prof. Sazzli specifically expressed his willingness to contribute directly to the planning and development process and perhaps also in the form of consultation during the planning and establishment of the Unila RSPTN. UiTM, as the coordinator of the University Network (Uninet) program which is part of the Indonesia, Malaysia Thailand Growth Triangle (IMT-GT) collaboration initiative, is also willing to support Unila in organizing the Uprime or University Presidential Meeting scheduled to be held in November 2023.
Dr. Ayi said that the Unila team’s visit to UiTM was a form of realization of the cooperation that had been established at the previous meeting, when UiTM visited Unila. Apart from holding meetings with UiTM, the Unila Chancellor and her team also visited two of the 10 Unila lecturers who were studying doctoral studies at UiTM.
