(Unila): In a series of visits and meetings of the University Presidents Forum (UPF) at UTM Malaysia, Thursday 10 August 2023, the Chancellor of the University of Lampung (Unila) and his team also held a meeting to sign memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Mindanao State University, Tawi-tawi College of Technology and Oceanography, Philippines.

The signing of the MoU was carried out by Unila Chancellor Prof. Lusmeilia Afriani, and Chancellor of Mindanao State University, Prof. Mary Joyce Z. Guinto-Salli.

The MoU was also witnessed by the Deputy Chancellor of PKTIK, Dr. Ayi Ahadiat, and the Head of UPT PKLI Unila Prof. Irza Sukmana, and LP3M Secretary, Dr. Dikpride Despa, and the Director of the Office of International Linkages Mindanao State University, Kartini R. Tahir, Ph.D.

In the signing, several points of cooperation were discussed and they needed to be followed up by the two universities, including the development and exchange of students and learning in the fields of oceanography, agriculture, fisheries and coastal development.

In particular, Prof. Mary also made an offer to Unila to jointly develop research and product diversification for seaweed through collaboration between LPPM Unila and the seaweed development center at Mindanao State University.

Prof. Lusmeilia insisted on following up on the potential cooperation between two universities, especially in the more specific area of ​​developing seaweed science and technology products. [PR Team]
