(Unila): S-1 Undergraduate Study Programme Biology, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), the University of Lampung (Unila) has been granted international accreditation by the German-based Akcreditierungsagentur für Studiengänge der Ingenieurwissenschaften, Informatik, Naturwissenschaften, und Mathematik (ASIIN).
Unila’s Deputy Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Dr. Suripto Dwi Yuwono, praised the outcome of ASIIN, hopping that the Biology Study Programme continued to make an effort to be part of a continuous quality improvement.
He suggested that the Biology Study Programme’s international accreditation by ASIIN motivate heads of other study programmes to have their study programmes awarded international accreditation.
The Biology FMIPA Unila Study Programme was the first study programme at Unila granted international accreditation by ASIIN.
ASIIN made visit to three study programmes at the Faculty of Agriculture from the end of February to early March 2023, and 11 more study programmes are in the process of visiting ASIIN alongside them.
This outcome is consistent with the judgements reached by the assessors at the completion of the visitation in December 2022. ASIIN came to the conclusion that the students and alumni were found to have been very happy with their study programme.
ASIIN was also impressed by the environment created by the lecturers, indicating good working and collaboration with partners.
Another excellent comment was made about the benefit of Unila’s facilities, particularly the Integrated Laboratory for its very efficient use, as well as that of the Biology English Club activities, making an important contribution to the students’ capability of English as recorded during talks with students.
The words “congratulations for that!” conclude the conclusions offered by ASIIN peers. [PR Team]
