(Unil): A delegation of students from the Faculty of Law (FH) of the University of Lampung (Unila) who are members of the Faculty Student Activity Unit Legal Writing Development Community (UKMF LWDC) won first Place in the Indictment Letter Competition at the Lawphoria 2026 event held by the Faculty of Law, Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta (UMY).
The Lawphoria 2026 Indictment Competition was attended by law students from various universities across Indonesia. The Unila FH delegation came from UKMF LWDC, a student organization focused on developing legal writing and legal analysis skills. The competition consisted of two stages: file selection and finalist presentations.
In the file selection stage, Baruna Widientara, a delegate from the Faculty of Law at Unila, secured first place with a score of 1049, outperforming delegates from various other universities. This achievement advanced Unila’s Faculty of Law to the final round, which was held offline at the Faculty of Law at UMY in Yogyakarta.
In the final stage, the Unila Faculty of Law delegation presented an indictment, crafted with strong, coherent, and systematic legal arguments. The case concerned crimes related to environmental protection and management, with a legal framework that places corporations as the primary perpetrators, with directors and managers also held criminally accountable.
The Unila Faculty of Law delegation consisted of three students: Sri Fatma Delya, the head of the delegation, Nasywa Putri and Viranaila Nurul Ulya, as members. The head of the delegation, Sri Fatma Delya, revealed that the process of drafting the indictment was fraught with challenges.
“This indictment was compiled through independent analysis based on relevant literature and supporting sources. We conducted the process remotely, amidst various challenges, including technical changes from the committee and limited preparation time. However, this has taught us to work more cohesively, and it is a proud feeling to have our work recognized by the jury,” She said.
This achievement demonstrates the academic quality and competitiveness of the University of Lampung Faculty of Law students on the national level, while also strengthening the role of the UKMF LWDC as a platform for developing students’ legal writing and reasoning competencies.
