(Unila): The Livestock Student Association (Himapet) of the University of Lampung (Unila) held a national seminar (National Seminar). The event took place at Unila Faculty of Agriculture Hall on Wednesday (4/27/2019).
The theme of the National Seminar was “The Role of Animal Husbandry in Supporting Food Independence from Livestock and Prospects of Livestock in the Field of Fires and Poultry”.
The event was opened symbolically by beating the gong by Sri Suharyati as Head of the Unila Animal Husbandry Department.
Sri appealed, all animal husbandry students attending this event could continue to be enthusiastic and proud to be students of animal husbandry.
“Hopefully the knowledge gained will be useful to support the community to encourage food needs from livestock,” he said.
The committee for this event invited Vera Falinda as Financial Consultant for Farm Animal Husbandry, ASWANGGA CEO drh. Nanang Purus Subendro, President Director of PT. Indoprima Beef, and Hadi Widajad as DGM Marketing PT. CJP Feedmil.
The event was also attended by the Coordinator of Animal Student Senate Association (Ismapeti) in Sumatra I Region and a delegation of animal husbandry students from universities throughout Sumatra.
Nanang, one of the presenters, said that the livestock in Indonesia has not been seriously managed. “People in Indonesia mostly make their farms as part-time so they are not managed professionally,” he said.
The chief executive, Bagaskara Sungging Wicaksana (Livestock Deparment ’16), explained that the national seminar was one of the series of Region 1 Animal Husbandry Leadership Training.
He hoped that the event could increase the enthusiasm of livestock students to achieve self-sufficiency in livestock products.
In line with Bagas, one of seminar participants, Tri Alvianti Alwinda, hoped that livestock students could be more unified. “Hopefully a similar event can be held every year so that the relationship between animal husbandry students gets tighter,” said a student from the University of North Sumatra.
