(Unila): University of Lampung (Unila) has once again achieved a strategic milestone in strengthening the quality of international-standard higher education.

Three faculties at Unila, namely the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), the Faculty of Engineering (FT), and the Faculty of Medicine (FK), have officially received full accreditation from the international accreditation agency Akkreditierungsagentur für Studiengänge der Ingenieurwissenschaften, Informatik, Naturwissenschaften und Mathematik (ASIIN e.V.) with a validity period until September 30, 2030.

This information was conveyed via email from the ASIIN Project Managers to the University of Lampung.

The notification explained that the decision for full accreditation was made based on the results of the ASIIN Accreditation Commission Meeting held on December 12, 2025, after all the requirements and recommendations previously given were declared to have been fulfilled.

The ASIIN international accreditation achieved by Unila covers eight study programs from the three faculties. In the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), four study programs are accredited in one cluster, namely the Bachelor of Physics Education, Bachelor of Mathematics Education, Bachelor of Chemistry Education, and Bachelor of Biology Education.

The Faculty of Engineering successfully secured international recognition for three study programs, namely the Bachelor of Civil Engineering, Bachelor of Electrical Engineering, and Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering.

Meanwhile, the Faculty of Medicine has received full accreditation for its Bachelor of Medicine program. This achievement complements other faculties at Unila, such as the Faculty of Economics and Business, the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, the Faculty of Agriculture, and the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, which have already achieved fully accredited status.

This international accreditation process involved a long and comprehensive series of stages. ASIIN conducted accreditation visits in September and October 2024, carrying out a thorough assessment of the curriculum, learning processes, lecturer quality, internal quality assurance systems, facilities and infrastructure, and stakeholder involvement, including students and graduate users.

This visitation was a crucial step in ensuring the sustainable implementation of international standards. Previously, FKIP, FT, and FK had obtained conditional accreditation status with a validity period of one year. This status was accompanied by a number of recommendations for improvement that must be fulfilled.

Following up on this, the University of Lampung took various strategic steps, ranging from strengthening the quality assurance system, refining the curriculum, improving academic documentation, to optimizing the integrated management of faculties and study programs.

The success in achieving full ASIIN accreditation until 2030 is clear evidence of the University of Lampung’s commitment to promoting the internationalization of higher education.

This recognition not only enhances the institution’s reputation globally, but also provides added value for Unila graduates in increasing their competitiveness in the national and international job markets.

Furthermore, this achievement opens up broader opportunities for Unila to strengthen its international cooperation networks in the fields of education, research, and community service.

Student and lecturer exchange programs, cross-border research collaborations, and the development of global standard study programs are expected to flourish in line with the international recognition achieved.

With the achievement of full ASIIN accreditation by FKIP, FT, and FK, the University of Lampung has affirmed its position as a higher education institution that consistently maintains quality, adapts to international standards, and is committed to producing excellent, competitive graduates who contribute to national development.
