(Unila): Rector of the University of Lampung (Unila) Prof. Dr. Ir. Hasriadi Mat Akin, M.P., officially announced a new building for postgraduate programs of Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), Monday (4/29/2019).

In addition to the attendance of campus academics, the event was also attended by Commander of the Black Garuda Military Command 043 Colonel Taufiq Hanafi, the head of the Unila partner bank, and the FEB Alumni Family Association.

Dean of FEB Prof. Satria Bangsawan said, the construction of the postgraduate building had several work plans. It began in 2000 together with the establishment of the FEB diploma program building.

According to Satria, the design of the building changed somewhat from the original plan. It was adjusted to the results of the leaders’ meetings and current needs such as the need for an open examination room for doctoral programs.

“Through the approval of the Rector and the amount of PNBP, this building could be completed step by step. It was also supported by other stakeholders such as partner banks, regional governments, PT Bukit Asam, and alumni, “Satria recalled.

He hopes that the addition of this facility can improve the quality, number and interest of prospective students who enroll at FEB.

Prof. Hasriadi, in his address, said that infrastructure development is one of the priorities being promoted by a number of universities. At least, he said, Unila has built 13 new buildings to develop a conducive academic climate.

“It is targeted that in 2020 there will be no building of more than 20 years old. The theme of the new building is smart building to support Unila to become a smart campus with international competitiveness,” he explained.

In addition to building construction, Unila also applies green metrics with a concept of energy saving and environmentally friendly in terms of good waste management and campus atmosphere. Hasriadi targets no stalled buildings during his period of leadership. [PR Team]
