(Unila): The Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) of the University of Lampung (Unila) held an extraordinary senate meeting as part of the peak of its 58th anniversary, which was accompanied by scientific orations and the launch of the FKIP Teachers’ House, in the FKIP Unila Hall K, Thursday, February 12, 2026.
The activity, which was carried out online and offline, was attended by Unila Rector Prof. Dr. Ir. Lusmeilia Afriani, DEA, IPM., ASEAN Eng., Vice Rector for Student Affairs and Alumni Prof. Dr. Sunyono, M.Si., and FKIP Senate Chair Prof. Dr. Herpratiwi, M.Pd.
Also present were the Dean of FKIP Dr. Albet Maydiantoro, M.Pd., Chair of the Professors Forum Prof. Dr. Farida Ariyani, M.Pd., and Dr. Bustami Zainudin, S.Pd., MH, as the General Chair of IKA FKIP Unila and a member of Committee II DPD RI, along with the leadership and academic community of FKIP Unila.
The activity began with an Extraordinary Meeting of the FKIP Unila Senate which was opened by the Chair of the Senate, followed by a speech and opening of the event by the Chancellor of Unila.
Prof. Lusmeilia Afriani in her remarks said that the 58th anniversary with the theme “Sustainable Collaboration in Realizing an Impactful, Superior, and Globally Competitive FKIP Unila” is a momentum for reflection on the long journey of FKIP in developing education.
“Fifty-eight years is no short journey. It’s a time span that holds a long history of dedication, devotion, and hard work from our predecessors in building the foundation of education at the University of Lampung and in Lampung Province,” She said.
The activity continued with the submission and delivery of the 2025 performance report of the Dean of FKIP and the launch of the FKIP Unila Teachers’ House as part of strengthening the role of the faculty in supporting the improvement of the quality of education.
The FKIP Unila Teachers’ House was established as an effort to address the challenges of 21st-century educator competency by providing a collaborative space for educators to learn, share, and develop together.
The programs provided include regular training to improve teachers’ professional competencies, strengthening the community as a learning and sharing space, a consultation center for developing educators’ work and learning, as well as advocacy and protection of the teaching profession.
Through the Teachers’ House, FKIP Unila encourages the development of collaboration between teachers and lecturers through pedagogical discussions and ongoing professional mentoring to support strengthening the quality of learning and the professionalism of educators, especially in Lampung Province.
As part of the peak agenda of the 58th anniversary, a scientific oration session was delivered by Dr. Berti Yolida, M.Pd., Lecturer in the Biology Education Study Program, FKIP Unila, with the title “Strengthening Collaboration Through Reflective Teaching in Globally Oriented STEAM-EDP Learning”.
The scientific oration emphasized the importance of developing collaborative and reflective learning as a response to the challenges of 21st-century education and global demands.
Following the scientific speeches, the extraordinary meeting of the FKIP senate was officially closed. The culmination of the 58th anniversary celebrations of FKIP Unila continued in a warm atmosphere with the presentation of tokens of appreciation to retired faculty members and the announcement of competition winners.
