(Unila): Rector of the University of Lampung (Unila) Prof. Dr. Karomani, M.Sc., officially continued the renovation of the Al-Wasii mosque. The ceremony was marked by turning on the escalator machine. The rector is targeting the construction of the mosque should be completed within the next three years.
“Let us jointly complete the construction of this mosque as part of our charity. This mosque must be taken care of by all of us. Hopefully, in the next two or three years, it has been completed. Aameen.,” said the rector in his remarks, Tuesday (02/11/2020).
Vice-Rector for General and Financial Affairs, who is also the Chairman of Al-Wasi’i Mosque Renovation, Dr. dr. Asep Sukohar, M.Kes, also presented at the ceremony, as well as Vice-Rector for Planning, Cooperation, and ICT Prof. Suharso, Ph.D., managing director of BPU, and Prof. Sunarto as representative of the mosque renovation committee.
Karomani requests support from all parties in completing the development. He hopes that the existence of the renovation committee will contribute to an advanced and rapid renovation process with an openness and transparent budget management.
He said, “This renovation is opened to everyone who has a willingness to contribute. Therefore, the income and the expenditure of the mosque need to be announced monthly, if necessary”.
The rector also advised transparency to all committees in handling the project. The committee needs to explain to whom the authority for renovation work is delegated, and presents it to the public. If necessary, he allows the announcement through campus publication media, such as the Unila video throne.
