(Unila): Seven Unila lecturers were assigned assessors candidates by the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT). They were successful in 2023 BAN-PT Assessor candidate selection. This accomplishment indicates the expertise and commitment of Unila professors in the field of higher education quality assurance.

BAN-PT assessor candidates are the lecturers who have fulfilled the requirements to conduct evaluations of BAN-PT-accredited study programs and higher education institutions. Prior to carrying out their duties, they are required to participate in the meeting regarding perceptions of accreditation regulations and rules.

Elida Purba, Ph.D., a lecturer from the Faculty of Engineering with more than ten years of experience in quality assurance, is one of the prospective BAN-PT assessors from Unila. She acknowledged that she was pleased and proud to represent Unila and to assist other study programs or universities in enhancing their quality.

In addition to Elida, there are six lecturers who are candidates for BAN-PT assessors: Prof. Sumardi from Mathematics and Natural Sciences Faculty (FMIPA), Prof. Neti Yuliana, the Faculty of Agriculture (FP), Dr. H. Ahmad Herison, (FT), Prof. Sowiyah, M.Pd., (FKIP), Dr.  Muh Sarkowi. Unila suggested the seven lecturers to perform their duties competently and professionally.

Elida Purba, Ph.D., lecturer in Chemical Engineering at FT Unila, is assigned an assessor in the accreditation procedure for study programs and higher education institutions. Her role as an assessor is expected to enhance the reputation of the institution she represents in addition to self-exploration.

She takes advantages of her position as an assessor to indirectly promote Unila’s reputation to other universities. She described the accreditation procedure beginning with the Desk Assessment through first online assessment to be completed using the prescribed form.

Then, the assessor is to peruse the description and documentation provided by the university or study program. Finally, the field assessment is conducted to make sure that the initial assessment data conform to those on the ground. [PR Team]
