(Unila): Dean of Teacher Training and Education Faculty (FKIP) Unila, Prof. Dr. Patuan Raja, M.Pd officially opened the ceremony of SEA Teacher Program (Pre-Service Student Teacher Exchange in Southeast Asia) Batch 8 on Tuesday (3/9/2019).
SEA Teacher is a program that purposes to provide opportunities for students from universities in Southeast Asia to have practical experience teaching in schools in other countries in Southeast Asia. This program was initiated by the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO).
The opening ceremony, which took place in the Rectorat Meeting Room floor 4th, Rectorate building was attended by the Head of Cooperation Development and International Office (UPT PKLI) Unila, Prof. Cipta Ginting along with other leaders and lecturers of FKIP.
In his remarks, Cipta conveyed, three students who participated in the SEA Teacher Batch 8 program were from Pangasinan State University in the Philippines. They were Franel Bautista Macayana, Mathematics Study Program; Precy Canengneng, Kindergarten Education Study Program; and John Joseph Zarate, Biology Study Program.
“The three students will study for one month at FKIP and then teach at three different schools, namely YP Unila High School, Darma Bangsa High School, and SMAN 2,” he added.
The Dean of FKIP Unila said that the program was aimed to strengthen the friendship between nations and cultures in Southeast Asia. “So this program focuses more on the introduction of culture than academics,” he explained. [PR Team]
