(Unila): The Rector of Lampung University (Unila), Prof. Dr. Ir. Lusmeilia Afriani, D.E.A., IPM., ASEAN Eng., signed the 2026 Impactful Higher Education Performance Contract organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Kemdiktisaintek) on Monday, January 5, 2026.

This activity is a strategic step by the government to unify the direction of higher education management in Indonesia, in line with the vision of national transformation towards Indonesia Emas 2045.

The performance contract was signed by the rectors of State Universities (PTN) and Private Universities (PTS), and directly witnessed by the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Mendiktisaintek) Brian Yuliarto.

The contract scheme is tailored to the characteristics of each university, including PTN Legal Entities, PTN Public Service Agencies, PTN Work Units, and PTS, in an effort to strengthen accountable, transparent, and performance-oriented governance in higher education.

Mendiktisaintek, Brian Yuliarto emphasized that the performance contract is not merely an administrative document, but a shared guideline to ensure that all universities move in the same direction and deliver tangible impacts for society.

“We each have a role to play in striving harder to create new breakthroughs, revive advanced industries, and commercialize research. By working together, we can form a national orchestra that complements each other and has a real impact on society,” he said.

According to Minister Brian, Indonesia has great strategic strength through its human resources in universities, which must be managed consistently and with integrity in order to produce excellent human resources, strong research, and innovation commercialization that drives national economic growth.

The government also encourages the improvement of lecturers’ welfare through research incentives and the strengthening of the research ecosystem, so that the role of lecturers as the frontline in shaping future talent can be optimized.

For Unila, the signing of this performance contract is in line with the Impactful Curriculum policy that Unila has implemented. This curriculum focuses on Outcome-Based Education (OBE), which emphasizes graduate learning outcomes that are relevant to the needs of the world of work, industry, and society.

In addition, Unila has also developed nine cross-disciplinary enrichment courses in an effort to support the Impactful Campus Program, which equips students with leadership, entrepreneurship, digital literacy, research, and social sensitivity skills.

Through this 2026 Impactful Higher Education Performance Contract, Unila affirms its commitment to continuously improve the quality of higher education’s three pillars, strengthen applied research and innovation, and produce outstanding and competitive graduates.

The synergy between national policies and the implementation of impactful curricula at the institutional level is expected to drive Unila’s strategic role in supporting the vision of impactful campuses and national development towards Indonesia Emas 2045. [Gandhi Irawan_Muzamil Kakar]
