(Unila): Rector of the University of Lampung (Unila), Prof. Hasriadi Mat Akin, received a map of Indonesia from the Inspector of the Geophysical Information Agency (BIG), Sugeng Projadi, in the J Building of the Teacher Training and Education Faculty (FKIP), Friday (8/2/2019).
The handover was made after Rector had attended the Geospatial Roadshow entitled “Geospatial Information and Disaster”.
The educated activity for students, which was related to the development of geospatial information in the country, was also attended by number of subject teachers, who are members of the Geography Subject Teacher Conference (MGMP) in Lampung Province; a number of lecturers; as well as students of the green campus.
Head of Promotion and Cooperation Research Center of BIG, Wiwin Ambarwulan, conveyed that the Geophysical Information Agency and the University of Lampung have signed an MoU since 2016 by establishing the Spatial Data Infrastructure Development Center (PPIDS), where Unila becoming PPIDS in Lampung Province.
PPIDS of University of Lampung, is an extension of BIG in Lampung Province for the process of making maps, spatial planning, disaster management and other related matters.
Prof. Hasriadi said that the current development of globalization went rapidly. “The era of industrial revolution 4.0 is an open era, who owns big data both statistically and geospatially, will emerge as the winner”.[Humas]
