(Unila): Rector of the University of Lampung (Unila) Prof. Hasriadi Mat Akin officially opened the annual meeting of the Forum of Vice Rector for Academic Affairs of the State Higher Education Cooperation Agency in Western Indonesia Region (BKS PTN Barat), Sunday (06/23/2019).
This year, Unila currently became the host of BKS-PTN Barat annual meeting. The event which took place at Emersia Hotel, Bandarlampung, had a couple main of activities.
First, there was a discussion on Revitalization on Internationalization Cooperation in the Implementation of Blended Learning for Indonesia State Higher Education and the selection of Chairperson of the Forum of Vice Rectors for Academic Affairs of BKS-PTN Barat.
The committee presented guest speaker R. Alpha Amirahman, M. Phil, Ph.D., as Director of SEAMOLEC, who talked about the potential of sharing infrastructure and online-based service cooperation for cooperation amongst PTN in Asia Pacific.
Prof. Dr. Syafsir Akhlus, M.Sc., as the Head of the BKS-PTN Barat 2018-2019, who is also the Rector of Umrah, said that each university needs to be focus on the development of technology usage in the education process in order to attain a progress.
In the last three years, those vice rectors were encouraged to compile for five textbooks. After the publication, all books were distributed to all members of the BKS as one of the lecturers; reference materials for teaching. Taken back to three or four years ago, the book is still relevant. But there is something more relevant. “I hope that by this forum you can formulate an applicable model of teaching material,” Syafsir concluded.
Meanwhile, the Rector of Unila added that innovation in the era of democratic science is an essential part because the source of knowledge can be searched and afforded cheaply and easily. “We can find content issues on the internet. But the innovation to make an applicable learning method requires to be sought together in order to attain the progress together,” Hasriadi concluded.[]
