(Unila): Rector of the University of Lampung, Prof. Dr. Ir. Hasriadi Mat Akin, M.P., officially opened the 9th Quick and Smart Competition (LCT) on Social Science (IPS). The opening ceremony held at the Hall K of the Teaching and Education Faculty (FKIP) Unila, Tuesday (9/17/2019).
The Rector marked the opening of the IPS LCT by beating a gong, accompanied by the Dean of FKIP, Prof. Dr. Patuan Raja, M.Pd.; Head of the Social Sciences Department of FKIP, Drs. Tedi Rusman, M.Sc.; Vice Dean for Academic Affairs FKIP, Dr. Sunyono, M.Si., as well as Unila lecturers.
This competition was one of the activities held in celebrating the 54th Unila Anniversary. It also set for senior high students in Lampung Province. For those participants who entered the semifinal, they will get a prominent reward, a free ticket to be the next Unila student. Rector of Unila, on his remarks, said, “We consider that those semifinal participants are the best students in our province. Therefore, we will grant them an entry ticket as the next student at the University of Lampung following the regulations and their course’ choices,” he said.
Drs. Tedi conveyed that the total participants of the IPS LCT 2018 were 105 teams from all senior high schools in Lampung except Mesuji Regency. While the total participants of this year LCT are 86 teams from 59 SMA / MA throughout Lampung. It remained Tulang Bawang Regency that did not delegate any representatives.
The criteria that could take part in this competition were 12th-grade students majoring in social science in Lampung. Each school might only send two teams. However, each team consisted of three students and one teacher.
The chosen subjects for this competition were the same as the previous year, such as history, economics, geography, and sociology of 10 to 12-grade materials referring to the 2013 curriculum. [Unila Media]
