(Unila): Three new buildings in Faculty of Social and Political Science (FISIP) namely The Dean’s and Administrative Office Building (G-A. Kantan Abdullah), meeting Hall A, and Student Center Building were officially inaugurated by Rector of University of Lampung, Prof. Dr. Ir. Hasriadi Mat Akin, M.P. on Wednesday (9/1/2019).
This event was attended by the family of the late Kantan Abdullah, Vice Rectors, Head of Bureau, Deans, Head of Institutions and other leaders in Unila.
The Dean’s and Administrative Office of FISIP, was built on 1.232m2 in width with four floors. First floor is for administrative service, second floor for The Dean’s Office, third floor for Quality Assurance, Journals’ Management, and also International Office, while fourth floor for multipurpose Hall such as for discussion and seminar.
The name of Kantan Abdullah building was obtained by discussion result of the Senate of Faculty of Social and Political Science in last October 2018. The name above was addressed as an honour and gratitude for the founder and innitiatior of FISIP Unila.
In his speech, Hasriadi said, Unila has begun transforming to be the research university since 2016. All university policies were focused on developing study and research. University was concerned on research development.
Furthermore, Unila has committed to develop the infrastucture since 2017 infrastructure development is as a balance support in conducting the activities of The Three Pilars of Higher Education. There were around 15 buildings built in 2018. This infrastructure development will be continued in 2019 such as to build 5-level-building for postgraduate program and student center, university dam to beautify the campus, as well as Waste-Management Center.
“We will improve our discipline in administrative service. Most faculties and work units at Unila have got ISO certification, Unila is committed of providing a better service,” said the Professor.[Humas]
