(Unila): Rector of University of Lampung (Unila), Prof. Dr. Ir. Lusmeilia Afriani, DEA, IPM, ASEAN Eng., emphasized the importance of leadership synergy in strengthening institutional accreditation and supporting the acceleration of student study periods at the farewell and welcome ceremony for the dean and vice dean of the Faculty of Engineering (FT) Unila, which was held in the FT dean’s office on the second floor on Monday, January 19, 2026.
This event was attended by university leaders, ranging from the Rector and Vice Rectors of Unila, former deans of the Faculty of Engineering, department and study program chairs, to educational staff on the local campus.
In his speech, the Rector of Unila conveyed that various academic and student programs run by the Faculty of Engineering not only have an impact on strengthening the faculty internally, but also contribute directly to the accreditation of study programs, faculty accreditation, and even the accreditation of the Unila institution.
The Rector emphasized that timely graduation (KTW) is a strategic element in supporting institutional accreditation. According to him, the various efforts currently being made have a long-term impact on the sustainability of Unila and the improvement of the quality and competitiveness of its graduates.
He believes that KTW also opens up opportunities to continue education to a higher level, such as master’s programs (S-2). According to him, the increase in the number of graduates and postgraduate students, including those from various regions and provinces, still needs to be optimized.
In addition to academic aspects, the Rector encourages strengthening collaboration in various fields through inclusive, efficient, and affordable activities in order to reach more students. This is expected to foster a sense of togetherness and solidarity within the Faculty of Engineering.
In line with this, the Rector hopes that the new vice dean’s leadership can continue and refine the Faculty of Engineering’s strategic programs for the 2025-2029 period, with sound, measurable planning that is oriented towards tangible results.
This spirit is in line with the slogan of the Unila Faculty of Engineering, “Unila Be Strong and Excellent,” for a better engineering faculty through synergy, innovation, and integrity.
This farewell and welcome event is an important moment to strengthen organizational consolidation and ensure leadership continuity at the Unila Faculty of Engineering, in order to support the achievement of Unila’s vision in a sustainable manner. [Gandhi Irawan]
