(Unila): The construction of modest rental stundent’s flat (Rusunawa) of the University of Lampung, which was a result of the cooperation with the Directorat General of Housing Provision of the Ministry of Public Works and Housing (PUPR), has already been completed. The flat of 200-people capacity is currently gearing up to be utilized by students.

The official handover was carried out by the Head of Non-Vertical Work Unit (SNVT) of the Directorat General of Housing Provision of Lampung Province, Zubaidi, to the Rector of Unila, Prof. Hasriadi Mat Akin, on Wednesday (02/06/2019).

Zubaidi, then, conveyed that Unila Students’ Flat (Rusunawa) was the Best Flat of The Nation by its construction. “This is the Best Rusunawa of the Nation as the construction has earthquake-resistant structures, which is adjusting to the regional zone of Sumatra Island. The structure even has been tested by the Faculty of Engineering of Unila,” he said.

The construction of this students’ flat project, which was begun on April 4 th , 2018, is in the form of four floor tower built on an area of ​​2136.12 m 2 . Rusunawa, however, consists of 50 rooms, that each of which is reserved for four students.

All flat is equipped with general facilities, such as clean water, sanitation and electricity networks. In addition, each flat is also set with student-based furniture, such as desk, chairs, and wardrobe for the students’ apparel.

Hasriadi expected that Rusunawa might become a pilot project for students’ character development. The residents (read: students) will get coaching program regarding a character development for a single year in this flat so that hopefully they can be a good figure among other students outside.
