(Unila): To foster the education for technology and innovation (HETI) project, the Postgraduate School, the University of Lampung held international guest lectures (international public lecture) in the local campus Postgraduate hall, Saturday, March 2 2024.
This public lecture with the theme, tropical forest ecosystem conversation was opened by Tugiyono, Ph.D., head of the Environmental Science Doctoral Study Program, representing the Postgraduate Director, Prof. Murhadi. The guest lectures invited two prominent speakers, Prof. Bernard Roitberg from Simon Fraser University, Canada, and Prof. Chris Sallis, specialist consultant from ADB Canada.
In order to improve students’ understanding and proficiency in managing tropical forest ecosystems—which are crucial for environmental sustainability—they exchange knowledge and experience. Professor Bernard Roitberg discusses the creation of a theoretical model for Canadian forest management in the first session, as well as the application of beneficial insects in agriculture.
Professor Chris Sallis talks about studies on human-mosquito interactions in the context of conservation biology during the second session. This international guest lecture is beneficial for students and academic staff to enhance their international collaboration. [PR Team]
