(Unila): Mr Tourism Indonesia 2020, Muhammad Daffa Andira, has been elected the representative of Indonesia at the Mr Tourism World event, which is scheduled to take place in Thailand in October 2022.
According to Daffa, the event should be a great opportunity to promote tourist destinations in Indonesia, particularly in the province of Lampung.
“Lampung is home to elephants, oceans, and beautiful beaches. Together with typical Indonesian cultures he will show on the international stage,” he remarked in an interview on March 10, 2022.
Therefore, he would prepare as best he can, focusing on his mental readiness, performance, and knowledge of Indonesian tourism, particularly Lampung, he explained.
“At the upcoming international event, I will discuss tourism in Indonesia in general, but as a native of Lampung, I feel compelled to highlight tourism in Lampung,” he remarked.
He said that he received an offer to select one of the international events organized under different labels, including Mr. National Universe, Mr. Tourism International, or Mr. Tourism World.
However, he confessed that he was leaning more towards Mr. Tourism World event because it is hosted in October, whereas the other two events will be held in the near future.
“I will focus on the planning, but I’m still occupied with my studies at the moment, so academics remain my first priority; hence, I’ve chosen the October date for the event. Moreover, it’s for the purpose of optimal preparedness,” he added.
He described his struggle to attain the title of Mr. Tourism Indonesia 2020. According to him, he was first elected the 2020 Putra Pariwisata Lampung and he immediately competed in the Grand Final of Mr. Tourism 2020 in Bali, three days after receiving Mr. Tourism Indonesia nomination.
He stated that he was independently and through the pre-quarantine procedure attempting to achieve all of the requirements for the title. Although his preparation time to participate the event was quite tight, he was appointed the winner of the competition, hoping that he could perform well in the world competition.
