(Unila): This was the deep impression conveyed by the Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation, and Information Systems of the University of Lampung (Unila), Prof. Dr. Ayi Ahadiat, S.E., M.B.A., when remembering the late Mr. Nanang, a lecturer and thinker who left a lasting mark in academia and community service, especially in Lampung Province.
According to him, as a lecturer, Mr. Nanang was known as a diligent and caring educator. He not only taught but also wholeheartedly mentored students from undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels. Many of his alumni are now successful, thanks in no small part to his guidance and diligence in throughout their academic journey.
In the field of research, Mr. Nanang was a prolific figure. His primary focus on political science has yielded numerous scientific works that not only enrich the body of scientific knowledge but also make significant contributions to regional development. His research frequently serves as a reference in public policymaking at the local and national levels.
Mr. Nanang’s commitment to community service is also undeniable. He actively builds relationships with stakeholders and is directly involved in the leadership regeneration process in Lampung Province.
His role as Chairman of the General Elections Commission (KPU) and an expert within the Lampung Provincial Government has made him a respected and reliable figure in providing solutions and strategic advice across generations of leadership, from Governors, Mayors, to Regents.
Within Unila, particularly the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Mr. Nanang is a role model. He was frequently consulted in resolving various institutional issues and provided constructive input to the rectorate and faculty leadership. His visionary, transformative, and collaborative nature make him a true solution provider.
“Mr. Nanang was a helpful person, generous, and always thinking about the organization’s progress. He has set a real example for all of us—lecturers, leaders, and students,” said Mr. Ayi.
