(Unila): The Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education and University of Lampung were monitoring the National Community Service Program (KKN Kebangsaan) in 2018 at four Districts, Tanggamus Regency, Wednesday (08/15/2018).

Chairman of KKN Kebangsaan, Sri Waluyo, said that this activity was carried out to monitor students in location of KKN Kebangsaan. “We carry out monitoring in order to ascertain what has been done by colleagues during this time,” he said. According to him, 641 students of KKN Kebangsaan have been placed since July 26, 2018 in 3 Regencies, namely Tanggamus, Tulang Bawang Barat Regency and East Lampung.

As for Tanggamus, the location of KKN is at 8 pekon in 4 sub-districts: Ulubelu, Airnaningan, Pematangsawa and Kelumbayan Districts. “So there are a total of 32 pekon at Tanggamus,” he said.

Participants in this KKN Kebangsaan were selected students from universities in Indonesia, both public and private. Every university from Aceh to Papua sends 5-10 students to participate in this activity.

The students will end KKN Kebangsaan on August 25 and returned to their respective university,” he said.

While Ilham Makhmud from Working Group of KKN Kebangsaan at the Directorate of Learning and Student Affairs of the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education claimed to be quite satisfied with the interim results of the program at Tanggamus. “Quite successful, the students really held the mission of this KKN,” he said.

Carry out two missions of KKN Kebangsaan are: students are asked to identify potential areas that can be developed through thinking. Secondly, students are asked to meet with the community to try to solve the problems being faced at this time.

Some of the results of monitoring were that KKN participants found 30 tourism potentials of waterfalls that have not been developed by the local government. In a different place students found the problem of pepper commodity whose price dropped and low quality.

“Furthermore, students will make a blue print as a solution and will be handed over to the Regional Government and Unila,” he said.[Humas]
