(Unila): The Language Academic Support Unit (UPA) of the University of Lampung (Unila) held a Duolingo Class for diploma (D-3) and bachelor’s (S-1) students from Tuesday, October 7 to October 14, 2025, in the second-floor classroom of the Language Center.

This activity is an annual agenda that aims to improve students’ English language skills, including listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills, as well as enriching their vocabulary and strengthening their understanding of grammar.

Through the implementation of Duolingo classes, Language Center Unila strives to encourage the improvement of students’ English language skills as part of the university’s strategy in supporting the achievement of Key Performance Indicators (IKU) for State Universities (PTN).

The improvement of IKU is expected to have a positive impact on the quality of graduates, while also strengthening the curriculum and learning process at Unila.

In addition to supporting IKU, this class also serves as a preparation for students who plan to apply for international scholarship programs from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Kemdiktisaintek).

One of the English Instructors, Seniarika, S.Pd., M.Pd., explained that in the learning process, Instructors strive to adjust the material to the abilities of students in each meeting.

“We strive to ensure that every student can follow the learning process according to their abilities, so that all aspects of English language skills can develop in a balanced manner,” she said.

Through this Duolingo class, it is hoped that Unila students will be better prepared to compete at the national and international levels with improved English language skills and greater confidence. [Gandhi Irawan]
