The colloquium, themed “Navigating the Crossroads: Law, Democracy, and Constitutionalism in a Shifting Global Landscape,” brought together students, academics, practitioners, and policymakers from various countries to discuss global issues in higher education.

In this conference, Unila students raised several legal issues, including:

– Ribkha Elizabeth Sirait: Transnational Justice for Indonesian Migrant Workers Exploited in Online Gambling Syndicates

– Duwi Anjelia: Jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court in the Arrest of Rodrigo Duterte in Connection with the War on Drugs Policy in the Philippines.

The process of participating in this conference begins with registering as a presenter and submitting an abstract for a scientific article. After a selection process, all abstracts were deemed successful and eligible to proceed to the presentation stage.

Through this activity, students gain valuable academic experience, from improving their research and presentation skills in English to expanding their international academic networks. This participation also demonstrates Unila’s commitment to encouraging students to actively contribute and achieve at the global level.

Through this experience, the students hope their involvement will motivate other Unila students to be encouraged to participate in international academic forums as part of developing their capacity and global competitiveness. [Muzamil Kakar]
