(Unila): Senate of the University of Lampung Senate held an election of senate chairman for 2019-2023. The election took place in the Rectorate Unila Meeting Hall fl. 2nd of the Rectorate Building on Wednesday (6/26/2019).
The mechanism for electing the chairperson of the senate was led by all Senate members by referring to the determined rules.
In its implementation, the selection of senate chairperson candidates was followed by 46 senate members. That number must exceed 50 percent of the senate members present. Besides, the election lasted for a couple of rounds.
Three candidates in the first round were Prof. Heriyandi from the Faculty of Law; Prof. Agus Suyatna from FKIP; as well as Prof. Wan Abbas from the Faculty of Agriculture.
In the first round, Heriyandi and Agus raised for 21 votes each, meanwhile, Wan Abbas merely got 4 votes. The two candidates who won the draw, then, made to the second round of the elections.
This final election chose Heriyandi as the winner as he went out with 27 votes, while Agus only got 19 votes among all Thus, Prof. Heriyandi from the Faculty of Law is elected to be the Chairperson of the University of Lampung Senate 2019-2023 replacing the former senate chairman, Dr. Hanung Ismono.[PR team]
