(Unila): Dr. Anna Gustina Zainal, Deputy Chancellor for Student and Alumni Affairs, the University of Lampung (Unila), opened the grand final event for the 2023 Unila Genre Ambassador Selection event with the theme “Glory of Genre” on Sunday 19 March 2023 at the Lampung Arts Council Building (DKL).
Dr. Anna expressed her gratitude to UKM-PIK R Raya, the executor, who worked tirelessly to ensure that the activity went smoothly. A genre ambassador refers to someone who represents the GenRe (Planning Generation) programme.
The programme was established by the BKKBN to educate adolescents or students for a planned family life in which education levels, careers, and marriage planning are all arranged in accordance with the reproductive health cycle.
According to Ana, having passed the grand final, the students gave evidence of being smart in both the academic and non-academic fields.
This program is expected to motivate PIK-R Raya UKM management to carry out and succeed at the national and international levels at Unila.
According to Abdul Kholiq, the Chief Executive, the Duta Genre Programme is a hallmark programme of UKM PIK-R Raya Unila, particularly in the field of life skills through which Unila has gained numerous champions at regional and national levels.
According to Bunda Apsari Melati Prameswari, S.Psi., the Sub-Coordinator for Youth Resilience Development for BKKBN Representative for Lampung Province, the goal of conducting this event was to socialise government programmes among students so that students have capability of applying knowledge, having a positive attitudes, and doing constructive activities for self-development.
She said that this programme was developed in order to prepare family and youth life for better understanding of the maturing age of marriage.
Unila GenRe Ambassadors began from February 9 to March 9 2023, followed by 59 applicants. There were four steps of selection to follow, i.e., administrative selection, a written test, an interview test, and deep interview. Having followed the series of the tests, 21 participants were selected to take part in the grand final selection stage. [PR Team]
