(Unila): University of Lampung through the Implementation Unit for Community Service  (BP-KKN) entrusted the delegation of Unila KKN students Batch II 2019 to the representatives of the government of West Lampung Regency, Waykanan, East Lampung, North Lampung as well as Tanggamus Regency at the Unila GSG on Friday (6/21/2019).

The activity that entitled “Increasing Village Independencey through Strengthening Innovation and Creativity of Unila Thematic KKN” was attended by 1,919 students.

The Vice Rector for Student and Alumni Affairs of Unila, Prof. Karomani, said that the delegation of the KKN participants was a form of Unila response at the requests of a number of regents who ask for community service placement in their region in order to support the regional development programs.

“Regents who are committed to the progress and welcome Unila program are the basis of the delegation program,” Karomani said.

Meanwhile, the focus of the current KKN implementation is creating collaboration with the local government in solving the poverty problem in Lampung. “Future cooperation is, then, expected to be even better. Unila concerns on giving benefits to the community as to realize the reinforcement on national and international competitiveness,” he added.

Moreover, the Secretary of Deputy for Human Resources, Science and Technology and Maritime Culture Affairs, Ir. Elvi Wijayanti, M.Sc., explained, Indonesia now comes up in very strategic position. The compilation of the reliable human resources, technology, and excellent insight is a reference to the progress of the nation’s welfare.

Furthermore, the Head of BP KKN, Waluyo, Ph.D., added, Unila has tried to show its existence in some regions through KKN activities. In addition, beside the regular KKN implementation, Unila also delegated KKN students to Ternate for KKN Kebangsaan, and Medan for KKN Bersama BKS-PTN .

Waluyo added, BP KKN Unila also made a new breakthrough, namely Trilateral KKN program, (as the result of cooperation with Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University – Banten and the University of Pembangunan Nasional – UPN Veteran, Jakarta) in which all students from these three universities will conductt the community service in Lebak Regency, Banten, in this year.

“Unila expects to be one of the national assets. This is one of Unila step to show its existence in contributing to village development not only regionally but also nationally,” he enclosed.[]
