(Unila): The Student Association of Communication Science at the University of Lampung (Unila) successfully conducted a social event entitled COMMUNICARE, themed “COMBINE: Bringing Hope, Igniting Kindness, Nurturing Every Soul,” at the location on Jl. P. Antasari No. 82, on Saturday, 14 March 2026.

Commencing at 15:00 WIB, the event attracted approximately 350 members of the community and featured various social activities emphasising the spirit of sharing during the holy month of Ramadan.

The event promoted a sense of togetherness between students and the community through a range of social and educational activities. The series of events began with the distribution of takjil to passers-by in the vicinity, demonstrating social concern and solidarity.

In addition, the organising committee facilitated various interactive activities, such as a prize draw for essential goods, a communal karaoke session, and an open donation initiative aimed at assisting those in need. The event also provided free health services accessible to the community.

The health services offered included blood pressure checks, blood sugar tests, cholesterol assessments, weight and height measurements. This initiative was supported by healthcare professionals from Poltekkes Tanjung Karang, who established a health booth at the event location.

The event’s coordinator, Daud Rasyid, articulated that COMMUNICARE serves not merely as a sharing activity but also as a platform for students to cultivate values of empathy and social concern.

“COMMUNICARE is anticipated to be a medium for students to develop a sense of empathy and care for others, while simultaneously strengthening the relationship between students and the community,” he stated.

The event, hosted by Justin Parlindungan Pasaribu and Lana Andara Putri, was met with enthusiasm from the attending public. The various activities organised provided not only entertainment but also direct benefits to the community through health services and social assistance.

Through the COMMUNICARE 2026 initiative, it is hoped that the spirit of sharing and social concern will continue to flourish among the younger generation, fostering a community environment characterised by care, solidarity, and togetherness. [Gandhi Irawan]
