(Unila): Prof. Suharso, Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation, and ICT of Universitas Lampung (Unila), hosted a conversation on Wednesday, February 9, 2022, regarding the collaboration between Unila and Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP) Malaysia.
The purpose of the meeting, which took place on the fourth floor of the rectorate building, was to aid in the achievement of the Key Performance Indicators (IKU) for Universitas Lampung.
Suharso noted that Unila continues to look into partnering with a number of universities that are on the QS100 list of top world universities in an effort to enhance the quality and implementation of international collaboration.
Accreditation in terms of international partnerships and the process of becoming a world-class institution would benefit from this event.
“Working with the world’s top 100 universities is challenging; sharing budgets isn’t that simple. We have received an offer to have collaboration with the world’s top 100 universities. I have been working hard for making the collaboration possible,” he stated.
On the same occasion, Karyanto, the head of the Geophysical Data Processing and Modeling Laboratory, one of the units working with UTP Malaysia, said that multiple virtual meetings have been made for making the cooperation possible.
He stated that Unila has been scheduled to sign a collaboration agreement with UTP for a longer period of three years. By doing so, the collaboration would be sustainable and not require annual extensions.
In addition, he mentioned that the collaboration could also benefit the MKBM program at Unila, as well as the achievements of IKU 3, which deals with lecturers seeking industrial experience while teaching at other universities, IKU 5, which is concerned about international journals and conferences, and IKU 6, which focuses on collaboration with institutions listed among the world’s top 100.
“In addition to academic cooperation such as, dual degrees, student exchanges, and virtual mobility programs, researchers can work together through a matching grant scheme that lasts for 18 months with the output of prominent international publications,” he said. [PR Team]
