(Unila): Inspector General Prof. Dr. Rudy Heriyanto Adi Nugroho, S.H., M.H., M.B.A., acting the chief of the Banten Police, was appointed the chair of the University of Lampung (Unila) Alumni Family Association (IKA) for the period 2022–2027.

IKA representatives from six faculties gave their support to Rudy Heriyanto Adi Nugroho, also holding the Professor title of Police Mediation Science at the VII Grand Conference (Mubes), which was held on Saturday, July 30, 2022, in the ballroom of Novotel Hotel, Bandarlampung.

IKA includes six faculties, i.e., the faculties of law, medicine, engineering, economics and business, social and political sciences, and mathematics and natural sciences.

Rudi Heriyanto expressed his appreciation for the conference’s outcomes and his desire to continue serving as IKA Unila’s chairman for the ensuing five years.

Rudi Heriyanto asked Unila alumni to work together to make outstanding contribution to Unila and the Indonesian nation and state.

The University of Lampung’s reputation genuinely rests on the work of the alumni, according to Prof. Dr. Karomani, M.Sc., the rector of Unila. The alumni remain part of the Unila family even if they are now dispersed throughout the neighbourhood in different lines.

In light of this, according to Karomani, graduates should remember their almamater, the University of Lampung, as a mother who gave birth to and shaped them into scholars. Their hearts should be connected to their almamater no matter where they are.

The obligation of upholding the alma mater’s reputation is on the shoulders of the alumni, he said. “Alumni need to make contribution to their university from which they are graduated”.

Some 110,000 alumni currently belong to the member of Unila alumni throughout Indonesia, he continued. Karomani aspires to further expand the roles and responsibilities of alumni through the Unila IKA Mubes so that Unila’s contribution to the development in either a regional, national, or international level continues to raise.

The VII IKA Unila Mubes was first marked by the accountability reports of the Unila IKA management for the 2016–2021 period before the session’s presidium, the representatives of IKA faculty, and the branch management.

According to Abdullah Fadri Auli, the chief executive of IKA General Conference (Mubes), the mubes was carried out on the basis of the central management of IKA Unila Decree Number 001/F/KU-PPIKAUNILA/IV/2022 regarding the organizing committee for the IKA Unila Mubes.

IKA Mubes is aimed to foster a sense of community, cohesion, and consolidation among UNILA graduates wherever they are so that alumni make significant contribution to the development of the country and state.

He remarked his sincere gratitude and appreciation to all parties for making the mubes possible, especially to my home university, Prof. Dr. Heryandi, S.H., M.S., the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. dr.
