(Unila): The Higher Education National Accreditation Agency (BAN PT) paid a visit to the Master of Communication Study Program, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), the University of Lampung (Unila), Thursday (05/23/2019).

The agency assigned two assessors named Dr. Purnomo Raharjo from UNDIP and Prahastiwi Utari, Ph.D. from UNS.

The Dean of FISIP Dr. Syarif Makhya said that FISIP Unila has already had a number of study programs for 33 years ago. In terms of interest, the Department of Communication is the second most popular study program for its high number of enthusiasts in the field of social sciences.

“To achieve the Unila’s top ten vision of 2025, the master of communication study program welcomes suggestions and constructive critics for future improvements,” Syarif said.

Vice Rector for Academic Affairs of Unila Prof. Bujang Rahman added that the visitation is a process of providing fresh input and ideas to advance the study program in the future.

Bujang further said many enthusiasts of the Department of Communication came from outside Lampung Province. “Prospective students outside the province are mostly from Jakarta, West Java, and Sumbagsel”, he explained.

BAN PT assessor Dr. Purnomo Raharjo said this was a follow-up activity to the submission of data submitted by the study program to BAN PT. This was a field assessment to support the validity of the data provided. The visitation was held for two days including faculty and study program assessments.

“We have carried out an assessment on data since a month ago. Now we are asking for cooperation in implementing this field assessment,” he hoped. [PR Team]
