(Unila): S1 Agricultural Product Technology of the Faculty of Agriculture (FP) Unila welcomed two assessors, delegates from the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT), for field assessments. The welcome ceremony was held in the Rectorate Main Hall 2nd floor, Thursday (10/10/2019).
Two assessors, Prof. Dr. Ir. Sri Raharjo, M.Sc., from Gajah Mada University (UGM) and Dr. Ir. Nurheni Sri Palupi, M.Sc., from the Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) carried out the final stage of the accreditation series, namely direct data visitation.
Dean of FP Unila Prof. Dr. Ir. Irwan Sukri Banuwa, M.Sc., said that his party would support the field assessment by preparing the required supporting data during the visitation, including matters relating to preparation both at the university level and at the faculty.
Aligning with the preparation of undergraduate programs in all agricultural faculties, he hoped that FP would soon have international accreditation. “We will learn from other universities that have already achieved international accreditation, such as UGM and IPB. Hopefully, the assessors can share their experiences so we can learn more and ready for the next field assessment in April,” he said.
Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Bujang Rahman, M.Sc., in his remarks, revealed, “Unila learned a lot from IPB and UGM related to the development of the agricultural research. One of them is the developed research on cassava”.
According to him, Lampung, as one of the biggest cassava suppliers in Indonesia, has more than 300 thousand families living as cassava farmers. They are not directly proportional to the level of economic prosperity. Many families of them get hazardous economic condition.
Therefore besides assessing the data, Bujang expected that the presence of two assessors could share their experiences at UGM and IPB. [PR Team]
