(Unila): Prof. Dr. Ir. Irwan Sukri Banuwa, M.Sc., for the second term, lead the Faculty of Agriculture (FP) of the University of Lampung (Unila) after being reelected by acclamation at Closed Senate Meeting on Thursday (9/19/2019).
His election as Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture of Unila for 2019-2023 took place on the 2nd floor of the Dean’s Meeting Room of FP. However, Head for Dean Election, Dr. Ir. Abdullah Aman Damai, M.Sc. led the agenda. The meeting was attended by Dr. Ir. Dwi Haryono, M.S., Dr. Ir. Kuswanta Futas Hidayat, M.P., and other 34 members of the Campus Senate.
The selection mechanism ran in two rounds. The first round was attended by 32 senate members and resulted in 29 votes for Prof. Dr. Ir. Irwan Sukri Banuwa, M. Si., None votes for Dr. Ir. Dwi Haryono, M.S., and three votes for Dr. Ir. Kuswanta Futas Hidayat, M.P.
Rector of Unila, Prof. Dr. Hasriadi Mat Akin, M.P., expressed his gratitude at this extraordinary moment because the elected dean has the good vision, bringing up the institution to the more advanced direction. “In higher education, the position is an additional task, not the main task. We are thankful that Prof. Irwan is willing to bring up the institution forward,” he said.
Prof. Irwan also expressed his gratitude for the Rector on the election day. He also thanked Dr. Ir. Kuswanta Futas Hidayat, M.P., and Dr. Ir. Dwi Haryono, M.S., for their acceptance in agreeing on the election process and entrusting him for that position.
According to him, the unity among members is paramount in carrying out the mandate of developing the institutions. He hopes that he will always get the support of the entire family of FP Unila. “I am ready to be responsible for aligning with the vision and mission at the Faculty of Agriculture,” he concluded.
