UNIVERSITY of Lampung (Unila) through Cooperation Development and International Office (UPT PKLI) welcomed the delegation of the SEA-Teacher Program Batch 7, 2019. This welcoming ceremony was held in Unila Main Hall fl. 2 nd on Monday (01/14/2019 ).
This event was attended by Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Unila, Prof. Dr. Bujang Rahman, M.Sc., Dean of the Teacher Training and Education Faculty (FKIP) Prof. Patuan Raja, as well as school representatives that were involved in the implementation of the SEA Teacher program.
In his speech, Bujang said, University of Lampung keeps striving on constructing toward same vision in Southeast Asia. This was showed by Unila’s participation in the SEA Teacher Program for seven years. This activity focused on student exchange programs so that participants may gain a new teaching experience in different countries as well as different cultures.
In front of the participants, Bujang explained, Unila is one of the best universities in Indonesia and the oldest university in Lampung Province. This Green Campus has 8 faculties. However, the faculty, that manages the implementation of the SEA Teacher Program at Unila, is the Teacher Training and Education Faculty (FKIP).
According to him, University of Lampung has contributed in organizing SEA Teacher Program for seven times as an Unila effort to join the global system, especially in Asean countries. In addition, this year, Unila welcomed participants from two countries while Unila also delegated students to carry out the same program in different countries. “The participants will have a new teaching experience for a single month, which is from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. IWST,” explained Bujang.
However, on the same occasion the Dean of FKIP, Prof. Patuan Raja expressed his gratitude for the collaboration of schools, that become places for students’ teaching practice.
“They come to Indonesia to gain new teaching experience in other countries as well as to to learn the culture,” he added. The participants of SEA Teacher Program Batch 7 are from the University of Mindanao, Phillippines; Roosevelt College Inc, Phillippines; and Pilbulsongkram Rajabat University, Thailand.[Humas]
