(Unila): Rector of University of Lampung, Prof. Dr. Ir. Hasriadi Mat Akin, M.P., released 2.643 students from 8 faculties in Unila to Community Service Program Batch I/ 2019. They were deployed into 5 districts and 25 sub-districts in Lampung Province.

Carrying a theme “Fostering and Developing Village Independency”, all participants were expected to be able to represent a set of community service activities in order to embody university tagline, “Create and Inovate for Nation”.

All participants departed to the location on January 2-3, 2019, while this program will end on February 10, 2019. Those participants were got briefing before their departure time. This term is the first time for Unila Management Unit Community Service Program (BP-KKN) conducted an online exam for community service participants. Besides, in order to supervise students’ attendance and daily active program during the community service period, BP-KKN  applied  an online Information Monitoring and Reporting System.

In addition, as a support for campus identity as a Green Campus, BP-KKN initiated planting tree action entitled “BAKTIKU UNILAKU”. This activity is aimed to encourage students awareness in maintaining campus’ tidiness, convenience, and sanitation.

Rector stated that Community Service is a compulsory subject based on The Three Pilars of Higher Education: Comprising Education, Research and Community Service. This program is conducted in a real work experience among real society which will raise the students’ empathy and contribution for a better society improvement.

He also expected that this community service may bring up the next leader in any multidisiplinaries as well as establish students’ social intelligence through direct interaction in a society.[Humas]
