(Unila): The Government of Indonesia with loan funding from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) has proposed to implement the Higher Education for Technology and Innovation (HETI) Project.

The HETI project will develop the capacity of two public universities the Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) in East Java Province and Universitas Lampung (Unila) in Lampung Province to provide cutting edge higher education and high-quality research, two key drivers of technology development and innovation.

In Unila, it will construct a pandemic-ready teaching hospital which is gender-responsive, accessible for people with disabilities, earthquake-resilient, climate-smart designed, and procure medical and laboratory equipment.

A new integrated research center physically and operationally connected to the hospital and Faculty of Medicine will provide a research venue specializing in the life sciences.

Four laboratories will be constructed and equipped to support research in tropical medicine; biomolecular, genetic and degenerative diseases; pathology and toxicology; and nutrition, clinical trial and diagnostic trial laboratory, to expand Unila’s research capacity.

Afterwards, the capacity development of Unila Faculty of Medicine and expand partnerships with industries on skills development, research and innovation in disciplines supported by the integrated research center will be accommodated.

HETI Project Implementation Unit of Unila will conduct a selection of Project Management Services Consultant Firm with a value of USD 1,290,514 funded from ADB Loan 4110-INO.
