This technology is based on a homogeneous solution derived from 33 types of Zingiberaceae plants, vegetable oil, and animal fat, mixed with leachate.

This formula can decompose organic waste instantly in less than 24 hours without producing odors, while also acting as a biological activator rich in decomposing microorganisms. From the downstream process of this research, the Unila students’ team has developed two flagship product brands.

1. Refnila (Rebio Fertilizer Universitas Lampung): A liquid organic fertilizer with six specific variants, ranging from soil conditioners, growth and fruiting stimulants, pest deterrents, to an antivibrio variant for fish farming health.
2. Rafnila (Rebio Animal Feed Universitas Lampung): A complete nutritious poultry feed and supplement divided into two variants based on the age of the livestock (Protim 01 for ages 0–20 days and Protim 02 for pre-harvest).

In its field implementation, the PM BEM Unila team conducted household-scale industrial technology transfers to 20 youth from the local youth organization and eight members of the local fishermen’s group. To ensure the sustainability of the program, the students also donated appropriate production assets in the form of organic waste shredding machines, screw presses, and fish waste grinders.

Intensive mentoring aims to empower youth in the local organization to process up to 80% of market organic waste each month through circular economic management. Meanwhile, fishermen’s groups are trained to process 70% of fish waste into high-nutritional feed.

This program has proven to provide a multiplier effect both ecologically and economically, supporting the achievement of SDG targets particularly SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), and SDG 13 (Climate Action).

The sustainability of the ecosystem from upstream to downstream in Pasar Krui Village is now independently managed by the community through the strengthening of waste bank institutions and joint ventures.
