{"id":43875,"date":"2026-02-24T09:53:22","date_gmt":"2026-02-24T02:53:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.unila.ac.id\/en\/?p=43875"},"modified":"2026-02-27T09:54:49","modified_gmt":"2026-02-27T02:54:49","slug":"unila-strengthens-international-collaboration-through-partnership-meeting-with-the-university-of-seville","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.unila.ac.id\/en\/unila-strengthens-international-collaboration-through-partnership-meeting-with-the-university-of-seville\/","title":{"rendered":"Unila Strengthens International Collaboration Through Partnership Meeting with the University of Seville"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>(Unila): The University of Lampung (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.unila.ac.id\/en\/\">Unila<\/a>) officially held a Partnership Meeting with the University of Seville (Spain), on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at the second floor of the Rectorate Building, Unila.<\/p>\n<p>This meeting is a strategic step in strengthening the international cooperation that has been established through the Erasmus+ HARVEST program to support sustainable agriculture and food, as well as exploring the potential for developing broader cooperation in the fields of education, research, and capacity building.<\/p>\n<p>The event was officially opened by the Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation, and Information Systems of Unila, Prof. Dr. Ayi Ahadiat, S.E., M.B.A. In his remarks, Prof. Ayi emphasized that international partnerships are a strategic part of Unila&#8217;s internationalization agenda.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Global academic collaboration is no longer an option, but a necessity. Through the HARVEST Erasmus+ program, Unila is committed to strengthening the capacity of higher education to support sustainable agricultural and food systems and prepare graduates who are adaptive to global challenges,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>Prof. Ayi also emphasized that this meeting is not just a formal agenda, but a strategic platform to build shared understanding and design long-term collaborations to address global challenges, particularly in the areas of food and the environment.<\/p>\n<p>On that occasion, he also explained Unila&#8217;s profile by showing an institutional video and a short presentation on the history, academic achievements, faculty excellence, facilities, and international cooperation network that Unila has built.<\/p>\n<p>This presentation demonstrates Unila&#8217;s commitment to expanding global collaboration and improving the quality of education and research.<\/p>\n<p>Prof. Ayi also highlighted the achievements of the first year of the HARVEST program implementation in 2025, which focused on the Identification of Sustainable Practices and Innovative Pedagogical Trends in the Agricultural and Food Industry.<\/p>\n<p>This phase serves as an important foundation in mapping sustainable agricultural practices and innovative pedagogical trends as a basis for developing micro-courses and micro-credentials in the following years.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the HARVEST Consortium Coordinator from the University of Seville, Prof. Miguel \u00c1ngel Mart\u00edn L\u00f3pez, explained the development and strategic direction of the HARVEST program for the 2025\u20132027 period.<\/p>\n<p>He explained that HARVEST (Higher Education Leadership on Agricultural and Food Rights for Environmental Sustainability) is a program supported by European Union Erasmus+ funding and involves eight universities from Europe and Southeast Asia.<\/p>\n<p>According to Prof. Miguel, 2025 will focus on mapping sustainable practices and pedagogical innovation, 2026 will be directed at implementing the Capacity Building and Training Programme (CBTP), and 2027 will enter the stage of piloting micro-courses, accrediting micro-credentials , and developing Students&#8217; Innovation Hubs.<\/p>\n<p>The session also introduced and launched the CBTP program, which aims to strengthen lecturer capacity and develop cross-border innovation. The program is designed as a hybrid and interdisciplinary program, encompassing online training, the development of micro-courses, and the establishment of a student innovation hub.<\/p>\n<p>CBTP participants are expected to become micro-course facilitators involving lecturers, postgraduate students, university staff, farming communities, and related organizations.<\/p>\n<p>The discussion session was dynamic with various collaboration ideas presented by the UNILA community, including the development of a cold storage project to maintain food quality, strengthening social forestry management, collaboration in the fields of social sciences and literature, innovation in household waste management, and strengthening the resilience of coastal areas to climate change.<\/p>\n<p>In response, Prof. Miguel welcomed the potential for cross-disciplinary collaboration and emphasized the importance of sustainable cooperation that can address strategic issues such as climate change, natural resource management, and farmers&#8217; rights and the right to food.<\/p>\n<p>He also opened up opportunities for developing joint learning materials that could serve as cross-country references, particularly in the context of the ASEAN region.<\/p>\n<p>In closing, Prof. Ayi emphasized that the various issues discussed could serve as a starting point for developing collaborative and sustainable joint projects.<\/p>\n<p>The activity ended with the handover of souvenirs and a draft memorandum of understanding (MoU) document from Unila to the University of Seville as an official symbol of the collaboration, as well as a group photo session with all participants.<\/p>\n<p>Through this partnership meeting , Unila and the University of Seville hope to build a long-term partnership that will not only strengthen academic development but also make a tangible. contribution to addressing global issues, particularly in the areas of food, the environment, and sustainable development.
