{"id":43863,"date":"2026-02-25T09:46:01","date_gmt":"2026-02-25T02:46:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.unila.ac.id\/en\/?p=43863"},"modified":"2026-02-27T09:47:54","modified_gmt":"2026-02-27T02:47:54","slug":"unila-promotes-mext-scholarships-with-the-japanese-embassy-education-team","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.unila.ac.id\/en\/unila-promotes-mext-scholarships-with-the-japanese-embassy-education-team\/","title":{"rendered":"Unila Promotes MEXT Scholarships with the Japanese Embassy Education Team"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>(Unila): The University of Lampung (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.unila.ac.id\/en\/\">Unila<\/a>) held a socialization of the MEXT (Ministry of Education, Sports, Science, and Technology) scholarship with the Education Team of the Japanese Embassy in Indonesia, on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, on the second floor of the Unila Rectorate Building.<\/p>\n<p>The series of outreach activities was carried out as a form of Unila&#8217;s commitment to expanding student access to opportunities for further study abroad, especially in Japan.<\/p>\n<p>This activity was attended by the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Eng. Suripto Dwi Yuwono, S.Si., MT, Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation, and Information Systems, Prof. Dr. Ayi Ahadiat, SE, MBA, deans, and students from various faculties on campus, along with Teresa Chiquita Goenawan as the Education Team\/Study Abroad Advisor from the Japanese Embassy in Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>In his remarks, Prof. Suripto said that the MEXT scholarship is one of the prestigious scholarship programs provided by the Japanese government to international students to continue their education at a higher level.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The University of Lampung remains committed to promoting the internationalization of higher education, improving the quality of human resources, and expanding its international collaboration network,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>The MEXT Scholarship is a full scholarship from the Japanese Government awarded to international students, including Indonesians, to continue their studies at various levels of education in Japan.<\/p>\n<p>The programs offered include Research Student (college graduates), Undergraduate, College of Technology, and Professional Training College (high school graduates), as well as Japanese Studies (Japanese Study Program students), and Teacher Training (teachers).<\/p>\n<p>Teresa Chiquita Goenawan delivered the outreach material. She explained that the MEXT scholarship is fully funded , covering tuition fees, a living allowance, round-trip airfare, a waived student visa fee, and no official commitments.<\/p>\n<p>Teresa also shared several selection tips, such as ensuring documents meet the requirements, filling out the application form carefully, compiling a research plan according to the specified format, and preparing for the written exam and interview by improving your Japanese and English skills.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There are various information sites for supporting studies in Japan. Please search study in Japan. There are many other scholarships besides the MEXT scholarship,&#8221; said Teresa.<\/p>\n<p>Prof. Suripto hopes that all participants will make the most of this outreach activity, seeking as much information as possible and preparing themselves early.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Great opportunities don&#8217;t knock twice, and the courage to try is the first step toward success,&#8221; he said.
