{"id":43429,"date":"2025-10-08T10:00:16","date_gmt":"2025-10-08T03:00:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.unila.ac.id\/en\/?p=43429"},"modified":"2025-10-10T13:50:51","modified_gmt":"2025-10-10T06:50:51","slug":"languace-center-holds-duolingo-classes-to-improve-students-english-skills","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.unila.ac.id\/en\/languace-center-holds-duolingo-classes-to-improve-students-english-skills\/","title":{"rendered":"Languace Center Holds Duolingo Classes to Improve Students&#8217; English Skills"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>(Unila): The Language Academic Support Unit (UPA) of the University of Lampung (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.unila.ac.id\/en\/\">Unila<\/a>) held a Duolingo Class for diploma (D-3) and bachelor&#8217;s (S-1) students from Tuesday, October 7 to October 14, 2025, in the second-floor classroom of the Language Center.<\/p>\n<p>This activity is an annual agenda that aims to improve students&#8217; English language skills, including listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills, as well as enriching their vocabulary and strengthening their understanding of grammar.<\/p>\n<p>Through the implementation of Duolingo classes, Language Center Unila strives to encourage the improvement of students&#8217; English language skills as part of the university&#8217;s strategy in supporting the achievement of Key Performance Indicators (IKU) for State Universities (PTN).<\/p>\n<p>The improvement of IKU is expected to have a positive impact on the quality of graduates, while also strengthening the curriculum and learning process at Unila.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to supporting IKU, this class also serves as a preparation for students who plan to apply for international scholarship programs from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Kemdiktisaintek).<\/p>\n<p>One of the English Instructors, Seniarika, S.Pd., M.Pd., explained that in the learning process, Instructors strive to adjust the material to the abilities of students in each meeting.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe strive to ensure that every student can follow the learning process according to their abilities, so that all aspects of English language skills can develop in a balanced manner,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Through this Duolingo class, it is hoped that Unila students will be better prepared to compete at the national and international levels with improved English language skills and greater confidence.
