{"id":42403,"date":"2023-03-09T01:59:46","date_gmt":"2023-03-09T01:59:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/idn.unila.ac.id\/en\/?p=42403"},"modified":"2023-05-26T02:12:26","modified_gmt":"2023-05-26T02:12:26","slug":"guest-lectures-of-sociology-study-program-fisip-unila-presents-usm-cenpris-senior-researchers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.unila.ac.id\/en\/guest-lectures-of-sociology-study-program-fisip-unila-presents-usm-cenpris-senior-researchers\/","title":{"rendered":"Guest Lectures of Sociology Study Program FISIP Unila Presents USM CenPRIS Senior Researchers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>(Unila): Department of Sociology, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (<a href=\"https:\/\/fisip.unila.ac.id\">FISIP<\/a>) the University of Lampung (<a href=\"https:\/\/unila.ac.id\">Unila<\/a>) hosted\u00a0a guest lecture with the theme \u201cIdentity and Ethnic Politics in Nusantara\u201d Thursday 9 March 2023, inviting distinguished guest lectures from overseas.<\/p>\n<p>Prof. Mohammad Reevany Bustami, a senior researcher at CenPRIS (Centre of Policy Research and International Studies) Universiti Sains Malaysia delivered guest lectures, explaining\u00a0the phenomenon of clustering and primaryization that reinforces self-identity as Malay also recognised as a family or Malay Stock rather than as a tribe.<\/p>\n<p>This suggests that the discipline of sociology\u00a0embraces\u00a0a broader study from an archipelago perspective.<\/p>\n<p>He also presented the topic with respect to\u00a0Malay identity in the archipelago context, examining four identities in terms of\u00a0social dimensions, processes, phenomena, and the phenomenon of acceptance of Malay ethnic identity.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the phenomenon of acceptance of Malay ethnic identity as an identity in the middle wider community, can label each individual or a certain group so Malay identity is inherent.<\/p>\n<p>The Guest Lecture &#8220;Identity and Ethnic Politics in the Archipelago&#8221; was officially opened by the Head of the Department of Sociology, Dr. Bartoven Vivit Nurdin with the moderator, Ifaty Fadliliana Sari, M.A., a lecturer in Sociology at FISIP Unila.<\/p>\n<p>The event was enthusiastically attended by students and lecturers majoring in Sociology FISIP Unila both offline and online.
