The test took place in the office of Vice-Rector for Unila Academic Affairs, Rectorate 2nd floor, Friday (7/19/2019).

The 11 students were tested directly by Ustad Nur Kholis, Lc., M.A., one of the Quran Hafidz from Darul Fattah Bandarlampung Foundation and BPPMB Unila team.

Public Relations of BPPMB Unila, Muhamad Komarudin, S.T., M.T., stated that initially, there were around 30 applicants who registered. However, some of the applicants were not passing the administration for many reasons. Therefore, it remained only 11 prospective students left. The number of memorization of those applicants vary one another, ranging from Quran Juz 15 to 30.

The minimum requirement of Unila is that the prospective students require to have 10 Juz memorization. “Prospective students who pass this selection can take any courses from any faculties at Unila,” he said.

Besides Quran Memorization, prospective students will also be selected based on their reports and academic achievements. It aims to ensure that each prospective student has appropriate academic competence to fit the taken study program.

“We wish to advise they are choosing the suitable course based on their potentials so that they will easily adjust in the course,” said Komarudin.

Also, there were several points to be assessed, such as the fluency of Makhorizul letters, the Tajweed understanding, and the order of Surah in the Quran. “This is essential as the applicants should not only memorize but also able to pronounce it correctly. They are, then, expected to memorize the Quran consistently,” he added.

This path of particular achievement test in the religious field in Unila has been running for the last three years. The hafidz who joined the test did not only come from Islamic boarding schools, but some of them came from high schools in Lampung Province.

Unila intended to motivate both boarding schools and high schools in Lampung to develop their quality academically and non-academically.

Prospective students from this pathway are similar to students from the SBMPTN entrance. “They are not subject to SPI as the independent pathway, but for UKT (tuition fee), it will be adjusted to the economic capabilities of their parents.

Komarudin added, he hoped that all prospective students from this religious pathway could pass the test, as to color Unila students atmosphere more religious.[]

(Unila): Students Admissions Office (BPPMB) of the University of Lampung held interview tests for 11 students who were selected by a particular achievement program in the field of religion.
