The students also helped local youth in establishing Pokdarwis (tourism-aware groups) just before opening the access road and publishing it.

This waterfall was named Bangkuang Waterfall. It is has approximately 50 meters in height. The development of Bangkuang Waterfall began with the opening access road about 2 kilometers away from the major roads. This development was carried out jointly with the local community.

In detail, this road access is not made for a vehicle pass. The road remains original as to serve the tourist wanderlust in experiencing walking in nature, right in the middle of the forest to see this amazing waterfall. That is the concept of Bangkuang waterfall development.

The KKN students and local people initially conducted the project by discovering the forest. Surprisingly, the people found rare flora, a giant corpse flower (Amorphophallus Titanum). The plant was first discovered by Bagus (52). The flower seemed to grow wildly in the middle of the journey to Bangkuang waterfall.

Amorphophallus titanum or Titan Arum is widely known in the world as a giant corpse flower because of its inflorescence, which can reach 3 meters. Its uniqueness makes giant corpse flower as a flagship in various parts of the world.

As an indigenous plant in Indonesia, which is endemic in Sumatra, this flower also grows in the vicinity of the Bangkuang waterfall. The blossom of this flower will undoubtedly be the tourist attraction in Bangkuang Waterfall so that it can simultaneously raise public awareness to love and save the forest and the environment.[PR Team]

(Unila): Students of KKN University of Lampung (Unila) assisted local people in Pekon Basungan West Lampung in creating waterfall eco-tourism.
