(Unila): Cindy Rafina Rizky F and Yolanda Sabrina Putri majoring in Communication, and Government Studies respectively won 1st place in the Viva Legislativa Essay Competition held by the College of Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics (STMKG), Tangerang on Saturday, July 20, 2024.
Their essay reviews the Instagram page @setetesair.lpg based on the agenda setting theory that mass media has a significant influence on public’s interests and attention. The result suggests that technology, especially the Instagram application has a significant effect on public participation.
The public have the issue of water conservation paid more attention. The essay also discussed the role of the local wisdom, hulu tulang so that it is known by public outside Lampung Province and attracts the Lampung Provincial Government to set regulations with respect to water conservation and the local wisdom, hulu tulang.
In the preliminary round they had to compete against more than twenty teams from all over Indonesia, and in the final round they were scheduled to compete with the students from civil service schools, such as IPDN and STAN for the top ten. The series of competitions came through two stages, essay manuscript selection and the essay presentation.
Yolanda suggested that other students wishing to participate in the essay competition stay persistent and confident and to do their best. The victory has motivated them to continue to echo the issues they are interested in. [PR Team]
