I would like to take this opportunity to welcome new students joining the Department this year and to welcome back existing students returning after what I hope was an enjoyable break. The new students will find themselves in a very different environment from school to college, with a different approach to teaching and learning. Continuing students may find that moving on to the next year presents different challenges to their abilities and study requirement. In both cases, remember that the Department staff - academic, administration, and technical - is committed to supporting you in all your activities and to helping you sort out any problems that might crop up. Your academic advisor can help clarify the regulations and requirement and deal with any specific problems you may encounter.
